Little Audrey in...
Butterscotch & Soda
May not be politically correct today. No offense intended. The African American woman that is Little Audrey's caretaker is an obvious play on the stereotypical African American in the cartoons of the early 20th century.
OLD CARTOONS ARE CRAZY
A small compilation to give you a feel of the vintage cartoons. It featues Gerie the Dinosaur from 1914 as well as bits from Fantaasmagorie from 1908.
Betty Boop in...
HA! HA! HA!
A small compilation to I saw this cartoon, and a lot of other early Betty Boops, including some of the Cab Calloway material, on kids' daytime TV in the mid 1950s, a time that's usually thought of as innocent or up tight. I have fond memories and am still a collector of Betty Boop.
Silly Symphony Cartoon
The Cookie Carnival
In this confectionery-themed Cinderella-story, a sad Sugar Cookie Girl is turned into the Queen of the Cookie Carnival (aka, Miss Bonbon) by a wandering Hobo Cookie. The cartoon is an homage to the Atlantic City boardwalk and its "bathing beauty" contest---which eventually became the Miss America pageant---of the 1920s and 1930s.
Betty Boop in...
Minnie The Moocher (1932)
When the Betty Boop cartoons were put on television back in the 1950's and on most of the openings were removed. those openings usually features little bits with famous black musicians. Those intros removed were priceless historical pieces that added something special to the Betty Boop cartoons. Minnie the Moocher is one of the best Betty cartoons.
