When Worlds Collide: Unassimilable Muslim Migrants Crash Europe’s Fantasy Islam

This has turned Germany upside down. It has caused turmoil and a possible German shutting of borders. I will put in quite a few articles in this post to see how things have changed since this new years 2015 celebrations.

By Andrew C. McCarthy

What happens when the West’s fantasy Islam collides with the reality of an imported critical mass of unassimilated — and defiantly unassimilable — Muslims? Cologne happens.

Nor is it only Cologne. That was just Ground Zero of the New Year’s Eve rape jihad in Germany. As National Review’s Ian Tuttle notes in an alarming column about the predictable — and, if I may say, predicted — surge of sexual assault in a Europe overrun by “migrants,” the jihad included similar episodes, albeit on a smaller scale, in Stuttgart, Hamburg, and even astride the Brandenburg gate in Berlin. We are finally learning about the magnitude and harrowing details of the attack after days of Stasi-like information suppression. Chancellor Angela Merkel may not be big on German security, but she is a bulwark when it comes to fantasy Islam. First there was no news; then, a few disturbing hints of gropings and robberies by gangs of “Middle Eastern or North African” men. Now, we know it was a mass atrocity — the only remaining question being: How massive? Upward of a thousand men, overwhelmingly Muslim, executed a coordinated series of attacks on an obvious target of opportunity: street celebrations in the major cities of a reviled Western state, where they were certain to find throngs of young women and a police presence grossly inadequate to provide security — certainly not against a critical mass of Islamic supremacists.

The participation of Muslim migrants in the rape jihad is, of course, the fact most desperately suppressed by German officials. Mrs. Merkel earned her “Person of the Year” honors from left-leaning relic Time magazine by rolling out the red carpet for a staggering 1.1 million migrants in 2015 — infuriating the German public and spurring the migrant tsunami now washing over neighboring countries. In this information clampdown, the nightmare of the victimized women turns out to be the chancellor’s good fortune: Police on the scene were so outnumbered and outmaneuvered by the assailants that it was physically impossible for them to get near most of the women being savaged, much less make arrests. Most of the perps will never be identified. The media are already using this to cast doubt on migrant culpability. “It was not clear,” the New York Times opaquely explains, “that any of the men involved were among those who arrived in Germany over the past year from conflicts in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere.” Sure. In southern Germany, after two teenage girls (ages 14 and 15) were raped, police tripped over themselves to announce that the three Syrians arrested were not recently arrived asylum seekers. What a relief.

Nearly 200 women have filed criminal complaints in Cologne, the vast majority charging all manner of sexual assault. There have been few arrests, though, and nearly none involving sex crimes. The Muslim men used a tactic that has escaped the notice of fantasy Islam devotees but is well known to those of us who’ve followed the scant reports on the rape jihad as it has proceeded from Tahrir Square to Malmö to Rotherham: A group of men encircles the targeted woman or girl, trapping her while walling off police and other would-be rescuers. Knowing they are a protected class, the Muslim men have no fear of the cops — “You can’t do anything to me,” and “Mrs. Merkel invited me here,” are just some of the reported taunts. By the time “help” reaches one victim, the assailants have moved on to the next. It is not very effective law enforcement . . . but at least the cops can’t be accused of “Islamophobia,” right?

Still, Europe is not Nigeria — not yet. In the regressing advanced world, nothing on the scale of the New Year’s Eve siege can happen without tweets and pictures filtering out. Try as they might, German officials have been unable to put a lid on accounts from police explaining that “the large majority” of assailants they were able to identify were “from Syria,” or observing that “there were thousands of people who could not be specifically identified but who had an immigrant background, and were most probably refugees.”
Truth being the first casualty of war, it was left to Henriette Reker, the fantasy Islam–drenched mayor of Cologne, to blame the victims for their ordeal. Such assaults could be prevented, she declaimed, if German women adopted a “code of conduct” tailored to the new, multi-culti Deutschland. In the spirit of multiculturalism, I have such a code just off the shelf (on which rests The Grand Jihad, in which I outlined it a few years back). It goes like this: To be absolved from guilt, the raped woman must have shown some sort of good conduct . . . Islam addresses women to maintain their modesty, so as not to open the door for evil . . . The Koran calls on Muslim women in general to preserve their dignity and modesty, just to save themselves from any harassment. So for a rape victim to be absolved from guilt, she must not be the one that opens . . . her dignity for deflowering. These pearls of wisdom come from none other than Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the Muslim Brotherhood’s renowned sharia jurist. He proclaimed them on his popular IslamOnline website about a dozen years ago, right before he was welcomed into Britain — as a trustee of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies — despite his fatwas supporting Hamas suicide attacks in Israel and terrorism against Western troops in Iraq. Though he resides in Qatar, Qaradawi currently heads the Ireland-based European Council for Fatwa and Research. Qaradawi is the most influential Muslim intellectual behind the strategy of, as he puts it, “conquering” Europe and America by “dawa” — the aggressive proselytism of Islamic mores. The plan calls for flooding the West with Muslim migrants, directing them to resist assimilation, establishing Islamic enclaves, and pressuring the host country to concede the enclave’s right to govern itself in accordance with sharia — Islam’s societal framework and legal code.
As I’ve previously explained, when Muslims are seeking conquest, Islamic scripture endorses sexual assault as a weapon to establish their dominance. “O Prophet,” Allah is said to have announced (in the Koran’s sura 33:50), “We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou has paid their dowers, and those whom thy right hand possesses out of the captives of war whom Allah has assigned to thee.” In the Western ministries of fantasy Islam, the pols and their note-takers will thumb their chins and wonder what could possibly have motivated the German attacks — just as they wonder what could possibly explain the European sexual-assault crisis that has, by some mysterious coincidence, coincided with mass Muslim migration.
The rest of us will know that there is a strategy: conquest. Just as in the Middle East, women and girls in the West are the spoils of jihad, the vehicle for intimidating non-Muslims into surrendering sovereignty over the streets. If they want to be safe, Sheikh Qaradawi warns, they must submit to Islam’s sartorial suffocation. If not, well, they have it coming. By the way, since President Obama entered office, the United States has issued over 100,000 green cards per year to migrants from Muslim-majority countries. That’s just green cards — it doesn’t count the thousands of visas issued to students, tourists, and temporary workers. With the Republican-controlled Congress fully funding the effort, the government is on pace to award another 680,000 green cards to Muslim migrants — with their entitlement to lifetime residency, federal benefits, and a path to citizenship — in the next five years. As Sheikh Qaradawi and Mayor Reker might say, I’m sure it won’t be a problem . . . as long as the women “maintain their modesty.”

From Paul Joseph Watson: German Authorities Accused of Covering Up Mass Sexual Assault by Hundreds of Migrants

Dozens of women molested by Arabs and North Africans at Cologne train station

German authorities are being accused of covering up a mass sexual assault at Cologne train station on New Years Eve, during which Arab and North African migrants molested dozens of women after fireworks were thrown into a crowd.

The incident began when an intoxicated crowd of around 500 young Arab and North African men “flooded the city’s famous square between its central train station and Gothic cathedral” and “began throwing firecrackers and shooting fireworks as the new year arrived.”

At least 35 women were subjected to sexual assault during the subsequent rampage, with one report of rape. Others were targeted for theft, with at least 80 victims in total.

“I was groped everywhere. It was a nightmare. Although we shouted and beat them, the guys did not stop. I was desperate and think I was touched around 100 times in the 200 meters,” said one of the victims. “Fortunately I wore a jacket and trousers. A skirt would probably have been torn away from me.”

Around 200 police officers and federal agents were deployed but only a handful of the perpetrators were subsequently arrested.

Cologne’s Mayor Henriette Reker called a crisis meeting scheduled for today, labeling the crimes “monstrous”.

“We cannot tolerate this development of lawlessness,” Reker told the Kolner Stadt-Anzeiger newspaper.

“We will not accept that groups of North African men gather expressly for the purpose of debasing women by sexually assaulting them,” added Ralf Jager, state interior minister for North Rhine-Westphalia.

Other politicians called on Angela Merkel to change the country’s policy on admitting migrants from the Middle East.

“It can’t go on like this,” tweeted German MP Steffan Bilger. “Urgently needed: reduction of influx, secure borders, intensifying of deportations and meaningful justice.”

According to Anabel Schunke, a writer for Huffington Post Deutschland, police refused to describe the appearance of the culprits when asking for witnesses “to protect public order.”

Despite an abundance of CCTV footage, authorities decided against describing the men as Arab and North African, “so that the public would not make a connection between the crime and refugees.” Schunke writes of her concern that Germany is importing huge numbers of young men from “patriarchal, Muslim societies” that have little respect for women.

Critics have also pointed to the fact that the story has been ignored by many large German news outlets. In general, English-language mainstream media has also failed to report on what happened, although BBC News did cover the story.

“Many people accused the national media of engaging in a cover-up due to the ethnic background of the criminals, with many pointing to the fact that it took days before the details of the story reached national attention,” reports the Local.

Asylum seekers in Sweden also decided to celebrate the new year by sexually molesting women in the town of Kalmar.

“The men formed a ring around the young girls who felt very repressed. They began to grope the girls, and did not stop even though the girls repeatedly told them to. The men did not understand Swedish or English,” according to police.

The young men then made their way to a nightclub where they continued to sexually molest Swedish women.

This is not the first time that authorities in Germany have been accused of covering up crimes committed by migrants.

After a 13-year-old girl was raped at a migrant camp in Detmold, police buried the incident, fearing it could lead to “right wing demonstrations.”

“Although the rape took place in June, police kept silent about it for nearly three months, until local media published a story about the crime,” wrote Soeren Kern. “According to an editorial comment in the newspaper Westfalen-Blatt, police are refusing to go public about crimes involving refugees and migrants because they do not want to give legitimacy to critics of mass migration.”

As the Gatestone Institute documents, reports of migrants raping women in and around migrant camps in Germany have exploded since the country opened its borders to around a million “refugees” last year.

Cologne sex attacks: City holds crisis talks after New Year’s Eve assaults involving 1,000 men

Authorities in the German city of Cologne are holding crisis talks after a string of sexual assaults involving around 1,000 men on New Year’s Eve.

At least 60 criminal complaints were filed, including one allegation of rape, with officials saying a “massive amount of criminal offences” had been committed by the large gangs – also including robberies and pickpocketing.

The city’s police chief, Wolfgang Albers the suspects were aged between 17 and 35 and were described by witnesses as looking of “Arab or North African origin”.

Attacks were alleged to have taken place at the city’s main train station, which lies near Cologne’s famous cathedral.

Numerous attacks were also reported in other parts of Germany, including Hamburg.

One alleged assault victim in Cologne told the Associated Press: “I was touched from behind my back. And I was touched under my skirt and my buttocks were touched.

“I tried to defend myself, swinging my arm backwards and I almost fell down the stairs. There were so many people there, you couldn’t do anything.”

German justice minister Heiko Maas said that many of the 1,000 people involved were “co-perpetrators” in the attacks on women “by simply not allowing them to get away”.

He added that the crimes were a “new form of organised crime against which the state must take measures”.

However, Mr Maas said that any links made between the attacks and Germany’s recent large intake of refugees were an over-simplification and “nothing more than misuse of the debate”.

Cologne Sexual Assault Protesters Take Over Streets As Merkel Pledges New Laws — By David Rising And Dorothee Thiesing,

COLOGNE, Germany— Women’s rights activists, far-right demonstrators and leftwing counter-protesters took to the streets of Cologne on Saturday to voice their opinions in the debate that has followed a string of New Year’s Eve sexual assaults and robberies in the city blamed largely on foreigners.

Amid the heightened public pressure, Chancellor Angela Merkel’s party proposed stricter laws regulating asylum-seekers in the country— some 1.1 million of whom arrived last year.

Police said that some 1,700 protesters from the anti-Islam PEGIDA movement were kept apart from 1,300 counter demonstrators in simultaneous protests outside the city’s main train station.

PEGIDA members held banners with slogans like “RAPEfugees not welcome” and “Integrate barbarity?” while the counter-protesters pushed the message “refugees welcome.”

Police said four people were taken into custody and the PEGIDA demonstration was shut down early by authorities using water cannons after protesters threw firecrackers and bottles at some of the 1,700 police on hand. No injuries were immediately reported.

Earlier, hundreds of women’s rights activists gathered outside Cologne’s landmark cathedral to rally against the New Year’s Eve violence.

“It’s about making clear that we will not stop moving around freely here in Cologne, and to protest against victim bashing and the abuse of women,” said 50-year-old city resident Ina Wolf.

Specifics of the New Year’s Eve assaults and who were behind them are still being investigated. However, the reports have fueled new calls for tighter immigration laws in Germany.

In response to the incidents, Merkel said her CDU party on Saturday had approved a proposal seeking stricter laws regulating asylum seekers.

Merkel said the proposal, which will be discussed with her coalition partners and would need parliamentary approval, would help Germany deport “serial offenders” convicted of lesser crimes.

“This is in the interests of the citizens of Germany, but also in the interests of the great majority of the refugees who are here,” Merkel told party members in Mainz.

However, she also reiterated her mantra on the refugee issue, insisting again “we will manage it.”

Bonn University political scientist Tilman Mayer said he doesn’t see the CDU proposal as either a change of course, nor one likely to dispel many Germans’ concerns.

“This is just a building block in a chain of statements from the government and also the chancellor,” he said on Phoenix television.

Though Merkel has decried the assaults as “repugnant criminal acts that … Germany will not accept,” they provide fodder for those who have opposed her open-door policy and refusal to set a cap on refugee numbers.

Influential Hamburg broadcaster NDR said in an opinion piece posted online Friday that such crimes threaten to push xenophobia toward the “middle of the population”— which could lead to a backlash against refugees.

“And who is to blame mainly?” the editorial asked. “These young, testosterone-driven time bombs with their image of women from the Middle Ages.”
Despite the harsh rhetoric, the case is not yet that clear and the investigation is ongoing.

Of 31 suspects temporarily detained for questioning following the New Year’s Eve attacks, there were 18 asylum seekers but also two Germans and an American among others, and none were accused of specifically committing sexual assaults.

Cologne police on Saturday said more than 100 detectives are assigned to the case and are investigating 379 criminal complaints filed with them, about 40 per cent of which involve allegations of sexual offences.

“The people in the focus of the criminal investigation are primarily from North African countries,” police said. “Most are asylum seekers or people living illegally in Germany. The investigation into if, and how widely, these people were involved in concrete criminal activity on New Year’s Eve is ongoing.”

“”If we now take all the refugees into custody, if we erect fences around our homes and country, if we join the swing to the right that some of our neighbours have, then we give up all we have achieved.”

National broadcaster ARD called the attacks a “wake-up call” that illuminates the difficulty that lies ahead for Germany of integrating the newcomers.

“But we must not give in to our fears,” ARD said. “If we now take all the refugees into custody, if we erect fences around our homes and country, if we join the swing to the right that some of our neighbours have, then we give up all we have achieved.”

Cologne’s police chief was dismissed Friday amid mounting criticism of his force’s handling of the incidents, and for being slow with releasing information.

Speaking in Mainz, Merkel said local authorities must not be perceived to be withholding information and urged that the case be “fully clarified.”

“Everything has to be put on the table,” she said.

The proposal passed by her CDU party’s leaders would strengthen the ability of police to conduct checks of identity papers, and also to exclude foreigners from being granted asylum if they have been convicted of crimes and sentenced to terms even as light as probation.

“Serial offenders who consistently, for example, return to theft or time and again insult women must count on the force of the law,” Merkel said.
