Yupper…nice to be born a Muslim….as long as you are a male…born a female not so good.
A 26-year-old Lebanese student has been charged with child sex crimes for marrying and then having sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old Australian girl. The pair met at their local mosque. Court papers reveal the pedophile “bombarded her with text messages after he first laid eyes on her in a mosque in November of 2013.”
Perhaps even more disturbing than the fact that this man took a child bride is the fact that the girl’s father forced her into the marriage against her will because he thought it would prevent her from “committing a life of sin.” He allowed his young daughter to swap phone numbers with the Lebanese man, whom the Daily Mail reports “could not yet be named for legal reasons.”
A series of three meetings took place at the family home of the 12-year-old before the couple were married. They spent their wedding night at a motel, where they consummated the marriage several times. Then, the couple moved into the home of the girl’s family, where her father instructed his other children to push two mattresses together in order to make a queen size bed for the pair.
The girl in this case, who is now 13-years-old, conceived a child with her much-older husband, however she was diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy and miscarried. The Lebanese man faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.
While the practice of taking child brides is commonplace in Muslim countries, this disturbing story out of Australia makes it clear that this cultural practice is permeating Western culture. Are you surprised to hear that this is taking place outside of the Middle East?
To us the act of adults marrying children is considered immoral, illegal and the act of pedophiles in all civilized societies. However, many Muslims still believe they are following in the footsteps of the prophet Muhammad, who is said to have married a six-year-old girl, and consummated the marriage when the child was age nine. How long is it going to take to move these men into the world of the now. Education is so important and so lacking in much of the Middle East. Most people do not realize that millions of Muslims can not even read their holy book and depend on others to tell them what it says. This is one of the ways that radicals use to distort the religion even further than it already is. Education is extremely important in changing Muslim attitudes. In the West more and more Muslims are not practicing their religion and even leaving it in droves…they are the ones who have become educated and see the problems that exist in the religion. Given time Islam will enter the present and can become what many believe it to be…a religion of peace.
