Stupid people with dangerous dogs are causing the death and maiming of innocent children. One poor boy here in Hamilton will live while in England a little 5 year old girl was mauled to death. Why don't these idiots just take in a wild lion or tiger as a pet? These people who own these animals are idiots and they should be charged when something happens with these animals, they should go to jail. Parents in our society can be charged and convicted for crimes caused by their children yet they get a $150.00 fine when their animal ruins the life of a child or kills a child.

An employee gets badly burnt in a Hamilton pizzeria arson; a woman and her children are tied up and robbed during a New Year's Eve home invasion and at the same time three people killed in a head on collision in Port Colborne. New Year's Day a man took hostages in Hamilton.

...and to top everything off, someone stole a famous bronze statue in Oakville of Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko right out the park. They cut him off at the legs. Police figure it would be melted down and sold.  This isn't such a strange thing though. You see in the last twelve months, there has been a rash of stolen statues, world wide. We have rising commodity prices for copper and bronze. Hey, people got eat so they steal... not really this is bigger....52 statues were stolen and scrapped....their value was over $52 million dollars.

Hasn't this been a great beginning to the New Year? Kind of scares you to think of what is in store for the rest of the year. Oh well...HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR

Walmart finally figured it out.

Last year a very well off gentleman went into a Wal-Mart or so the legend goes. He had an extremely large selection of goods that he was purchasing. In his conversation with the clerk, he wished her a Merry Christmas. Her response was Happy Holidays. He asked her to please wish him a Merry Christmas. She told him that she could not because the company told them they were not allowed to say Merry Christmas. Again he insisted she wish him a Merry Christmas. Her response was the same. He told her to keep the items and that he would no longer be shopping at Wal-Mart.

I wonder if this was one of the reasons that Wal-Mart changed its policy this year and now has everyone wishing their customers a Merry Christmas. I guess to big business, money seems to be a good reason to bring the 'Merry Christmas' back into the Christmas season.

Everyone wants Canadians and Americans to respect other minority religious beliefs and yet it seems to be okay to disrespect Christians at their most important season.

I have always hated consumers who use their purchasing clout to have their way with business but now I'm starting to get a better understanding of those tactics. I despise myself for saying this but maybe it is time to show businesses that Christians are important to their bottom line. When Ramadan comes along, then feel free to wish them the best of their holiday as well; I don't care. It is their religion so wish them well at their time of the year. I know that I will be wishing Happy Hanukkah to the Jewish people I know at he beginning of their religious holiday today and so should you.

Yup...you got the money, you got the respect. Christians have money so let us have them show us some respect.

Now we're really getting ridiculous

By now most of you have heard the absolutely idiotic judge in Toronto who had a Christmas tree taken out of the main area of a courthouse. Justice Marion Cohen, who oversees administration for the Jarvis Street Ontario Court of Justice, ordered a small artificial Christmas tree, decked in lights and ornaments, moved from the main lobby to an administration corridor. She told the staff that as a Christmas symbol it might alienate people of other creeds and cultures.

What a bunch of &%**$ bulls**t. No one seems to give a rat’s ass if they offend the majority of the population in Canada lately. Well I am offended, and I will be offended enough to write Premier Dalton McGuinty.  When it comes to voting next time the first question I will ask of the  politician  will be to ask them if they are going to continue this discrimination against Christians in a Christian country. If they are, then they will not get my vote. Maybe politicians and idiotic judges will start to realize that Christians have feelings as well and we are sick and tired of having our feelings and our faith hurt.

Today Hanukkah begins and Menorahs will be displayed and you know what I don't care if they go up in public places because I am not going to tell them that it offends me because it doesn't. So why should my religious symbols offend others. This is plain political correctness idiopathic behaviour by idiotic people who think they know what others want. This is pure crap and it is time for all Christians who give a damn to tell their members of Parliament both federal and provincial that enough is enough or we will see what happens during the next elections. I have been a Liberal all my life, but I swear, unless McGinty puts that damn tree back and tells others to cut this crap I will vote Conservative next time and I will do my best to help them win if they intend to keep at least some of our Christian values. We are citizen's of this country as well as minorities and we should not be discriminated against.

It's time for those who care, to speak up. This has nothing to do with Muslims, or Jews or Buddhists or anyone else. This has all to do with people who believe they know what is good for us and that they have the right to do whatever alleviates their guilt of whatever... I am just plain tired of it. You know what the worst part of all this is? That idiot judge has tried to tell me that a stupid pine tree (an artificial one probably) is a symbol of the Christian religion. Where in our religion does she see that it is stated that a tree is a Christian symbol. What next? If she sees a camel in a picture on a wall, is she going to think it is a symbol of the Muslim religion and have it removed as well? She’s' the worst kind of idiot... an idiot that sits in judgment of others on the bench... that is scary.

I hope if there is a hell (which I don't believe in by the way), that there is a special spot for idiots and rude, ignorant people like her.

Putting the pagan yule back into yuletide

I just thought I would let you read this informative article...

JOHN MOORE
National Post

One of the great phony battles in the concocted North American culture wars has ended in defeat for the dreaded secular forces of evil. On the eve of the holiday shopping season, Wal-Mart announced it would put the Christ back in Christmas, instructing its robotic employees to replace "season's greetings" with "Merry Christmas." The world's largest retailer dealt such a staggering blow to effete, religion-hating liberals that many of us were put off our Ahi tuna and snobby Gewurztraminer (it's the new Riesling!) for hours.

Initially, I thought Wal-Mart's gesture would temper the bluster of media blowhards, for whom the annual approach of the yuletide season has always been like, well, Christmas. But it hasn't. Bill O'Reilly and company have fired up the secular conspiracy machine once again, conflating a half dozen unrelated anecdotal incidents from across the continent into a fantastical full-scale insurgent effort to suppress the birth of Christ.

The irony in all this is that the most significant force in the secularization of the holiday has been that of the free market, something the Cossacks of conservative rage often seem to worship as religiously as they do their God.

Over the years -- largely unprompted -- merchants have stripped Jesus out of their December marketing. They've opted for what sells: Santa Claus, elves, snow and guilt. Meanwhile, it struck some people that Jingle Bell Rock and Frosty the Snowman were suitable alternatives to the awkwardness of compelling seven-year- old Muslims, Hindus, Jews and agnostics to sing nativity songs.

This passive capitulation came as a great relief to liberals who didn't really have the time to wage a concerted battle on Christmas -- as we had our hands full coddling terrorists and destroying the institution of marriage. But Wal- Mart's latest move has convinced me that we cannot blithely stand by while Christ is shoehorned back into Christmas. Indeed the time has come to put the Yule back in Yuletide. After all, we were here first. It's the Christians who overlaid their holiday like new tile on old hardwood.

Long before the birth of Jesus, December found the Romans celebrating Saturnalia, a winter-solstice festival of candles, feasting, gift-giving and caroling (mummering) with enough booze thrown in to make the average office Christmas party seem somewhat Methodist.

The festivities culminated in an event in which one benighted person was fattened up, run through the streets and then slaughtered to cleanse the population of its sins. Happy Holidays indeed.

Less homicidal celebrations can be found in almost every ancient society. Dec. 25 was the feast day of the Persian sun god Mithras and the Greek deity Attis (who cut off his own genitals -- put that on your holiday card).

Jesus's birth did not coincide with any of these celebrations. Based on Biblical detail, the blessed event can persuasively be said to have taken place in the months of May, April or September. Dec. 25 was pronounced the saviour's birthday by papal fiat in the year 350, in an entirely cynical marketing move by Pope Julius I.

Julius knew that as a recruitment tool the martyrdom of Christ hardly offered an appealing alternative to the carnal pleasures of paganism. So he cannily merged the birth celebrations with the various solstice festivals. His sales pitch was "you buy into Jesus and we'll let you keep all the fun stuff."

Succeeding popes were so committed to preserving yuletide traditions, they even perpetuated some of the less savoury ones. History records that in 1466 Pope Paul II presided over Jews being fattened up and paraded through the streets naked. Mercifully, this all too Borat-like "Running of the Jews" did not climax with killings, but astonishingly it persisted in various forms until the late 19th century.

In spite of theological contortions to reverse-engineer yule traditions to imbue them with Christian significance, most have nothing to do with the birth of Jesus. The candles, feasting, mummering and merriment were all well- established ante Dominum. The Celts threw in the holly and the mistletoe. The pagans laid on the yule log. The Germans brought the tree.

But here's the thing: Like most liberals, I'm willing to be quite conciliatory about all this. This may make me somewhat of a Neville Chamberlain amongst secularists, but if the Christmas warriors are willing to call off this noisy annual caterwauling, I am perfectly prepared to allow their religious festival to coincide with our much older and more established secular holiday. I'm that generous.

To paraphrase John Lennon: "War on Christmas is over (if you want it)."

History lesson

I received this response to one of those Christmas letters going around. you know the ones I mean. They are telling us to respect Christmas. I even have one below somewhere in my previous comments. This letter is from Paul. I did not edit it but I did correct some spelling. Here it is...

This type of discriminatory rhetoric is specifically the reason why we have to be as inclusive as possible and not allow one "faith" to dominate our society.

Incidentally, the "tree" that everyone puts up is a pagan tradition begun in northern Europe which started by bringing in evergreen boughs to remind people that spring would come again.  The exchanging of gifts is an ancient roman tradition during the festival of Saturn.  These, among others, are traditions and symbols that were appropriated by Christians in their zeal to convert the "savages" they encountered in their travels.

And while we're at it....this land that you're sitting on was inhabitant by native peoples for THOUSANDS of years so if any our Christian "guests" don't think it's appropriate to be inclusive than maybe THEY shouldn't stay.

The only flaw in your logic is that as much as we want to leave everyone to practice their form of religion in this country, there is one religion that believes that everyone must convert to their religion or they are to be destroyed. You would be aware of this if you read the newspapers. Yes, I know it is the extremist faction but everyday they are growing by leaps and bounds.

Yeah, yeah we've all heard the old hat stuff about Christendom being an amalgamation of other pagan rituals....blah...blah...nothing new there and it's been that way with all religions...one forms another so nothing worth mentioning there.

I'm sure that the native people that were encountered here by our long distance ancestors displaced others when they came here from Europe/Asia across the Bering Straits. It's all history now. Unfortunately for all of us we are all visitors somewhere. The only thing that needs to be learned is that each country has its own identity and that like everyone on this planet we want to maintain ours. All we ask is that when new blood comes here, they at least try to integrate into our society and if they can't or won't then why come here. Unless of course they intend to eventually absorb us into their culture. This is a norm that has gone down throughout history. The societies that wish to survive will fight and if they don't fight to survive then they will be assimilated into whatever new society forms. This should be obvious if you study history. The Romans were able to subjugate everyone because of their strength and their willingness to have their culture survive. When they no longer cared to fight and wished peace they allowed themselves to be overrun by the Christians. So, if history repeats itself, we either allow ourselves to be taken over or we fight for our lifestyle and our society as it is. If we are tired of what we have, then we will eventually succumb to those we presently call the "enemy". It's that simple. Strive to maintain the status quo or sit back and wait for the changes. Nothing new here, it's been going on for all of mankind's history and it will continue to go on, despite ourselves.

In the meantime this is our country and we like it the way it is and I enjoy, like others, to be able to say Merry Christmas, to see Christmas all around me at this time of year and I resent those who wish to take that away from me. Those I resent, are not non-Christians because most of those that I know, always wish me a Merry Christmas as I wish them Happy Hanukkah and the best during Ramadan. The problem are those Christians who think that their religion offends others because in truth their faith is not strong enough within themselves to stand by it, so they try to find excuses and reasons not to practice their own faith.

What is sad is that there are (brave) people (some say cowards) around the world who are willingly to sacrifice themselves for their faith and beliefs and all we are willing to do is cave in to our own faithlessness. A shame.

In the meantime...MERRY CHRISTMAS if you are of that faith and Happy Holidays if you are not... but to all no matter what, I wish you peace and good tidings and long life.

Airport plays Grinch

So, it seems that the Seattle-Tacoma Washington airport took down all its nine Christmas trees to avoid being sued by a Jewish Rabbi. It seems that Rabbi Elazar Bogomilsky requested a giant menorah be put up as a display as well. He requested this weeks earlier but was appalled by the decision even though the idiot had backed up his request with a hired lawyer who threatened to sue the airport if they did not comply. Gee, now why would this idiotic Rabbi be shocked at the decision of the airport? Instead of requesting and waiting he threatened legal action and for that he is surprised that in the face of a possible lawsuit, the airport decided to remove all references to the Christmas holidays.

Well now it seems the lawyer was upset  that the airport darkened the halls instead of turning the lights up. He figures this will make the Jewish community come off looking  like the  Grinch. Wow, now there is an intelligent lawyer. Maybe if he wasn't involved the airport may have agreed. Why didn't they?

After the airport consulted their lawyers, it was decided that if they put up the menorah then they would have to put up other religious and cultural symbols or they could get sued by other nut jobs (my word not theirs). Since it was the busiest season for the airport they figured they would not have time to research all the cultural symbols they might have to put up, so shut it all down.

The French may be on the right track by trying to  ban all religious symbols in public places. I think that that maybe we should go the same route. I am starting to feel that if all religious symbols were banned in public and open air places that maybe it would solve a lot of problems. This would mean no wearing of crosses wear they can be seen, no yarmulkes for Jewish men, no zucchettos for Roman Catholic clergy outside the actual Church building, no turbans; no head scarves, no veils and anything else that resonant of religious significance. All these symbols would be allowed only within the confines of the religious buildings where people would be allowed to worship. Obviously the setting up of menorahs, Christmas trees and other religious symbols would have to be banned outside of Churches et cetra.

See, this would solve the problem of being sued. I guess this is why it has often been said that  the best way to eliminate wars is if we all ran around naked...it would then be hard to tell who the enemy was, because right now, we can all see the enemy to our way of life, by looking in the mirror.

On Being A Canadian

My friend Mary sent this to me and it makes a lot of sense. Read it and understand how many Canadians Feel.

So many letter writers have explained how this land is made up of immigrants.  Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people why today's Canadian is not willing to accept the new kind of immigrant any longer.

Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to Canada, people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in Halifax and be documented.  Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times.  They made learning English a primary rule in their new Canadian households and some even changed their names to blend in with  their new home.  They had waved good bye to their birth place to give their children a new life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture.

Nothing was handed to them.  No free lunches, no welfare, no labour laws to protect them.  All they had were the skills, craftsmanship and desire they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity.  Most of their children came of age when World War II broke out.  Canadians fought along side men whose parents had come straight over from Germany, Italy, France, Japan, Czechoslovakia, Russia, Sweden, and so many other places.  None of these first generation Canadians ever gave any thought about what country their parents had come from.

They were Canadians fighting Hitler, Mussolini and the Emperor of Japan.  They were defending the Freedom as one people.  When we liberated France, no one in those villages was looking for the Ukrainian-Canadian or the German-Canadian or the Irish-Canadian.  The people of France saw only Canadians.

And we carried one flag that represented our country.  Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up another country's flag and waving it to represent who they were.  It would have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here.  These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be a Canadian.  They stirred the melting pot into one red and white bowl.

And here we are in 2006 with a new kind of immigrant who wants the same rights and privileges.  Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that includes a CANADIAN PASSPORT and a GUARANTEE of BEING FAITHFUL to THEIR MOTHER COUNTRY.  I'm sorry, that's not what being a Canadian is all about. Canadians have been very open hearted and open minded regarding immigrants, whether they were fleeing poverty, dictatorship, persecution, or whatever else makes a person adopt a foreign country.  And, I suppose when we say ADOPT, we think of those aforementioned immigrants who truly did ADOPT our country, and our flag and our morals and our customs.
And left their wars, hatred, and divisions behind.

I believe that the immigrants who  landed in Canada in the early 1900s deserve better than that for  the toil, hard work and sacrifice in raising future generations to create a land that has become a beacon for those legally searching for a better life.  I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags, fighting foreign battles on our soil, making Canadians change
to suit their religions and cultures, and wanting to change our country's fabric by claiming discrimination when we do not give in to their demands.

I was one of those immigrants and I turned down dual citizenship because Canada is my country and my home and if I had to fight for a country it would be for Canada only and not the country of my birth. My parents left their homeland for something better and not for the same. Maybe some other immigrants to this country should try it. Keep your religion, keep your style of dress but remember you should be loyal and fight for one country. The country you've adopted. If you can't and the homeland's idealogy is too strong and the ties to difficult to break then may I suggest going back to where it is obvious you want to be. If you truly want a new life in Canada then discard your old ways and your old ties and say only that you are willing to die for one country only...CANADA.

What a pile of crock

British companies ban Christmas displays

LONDON (UPI) -- British law firm Peninsula says nearly 75 percent of companies in the country are choosing not to display Christmas decorations.

The law firm said companies are avoiding yuletide displays in the workplace out of fear that an offended party could sue for discrimination, Sky News reported Tuesday.

"Christmas trees and decorations may well be a thing of the past in many workplaces this Christmas as political correctness culture has spread to the workplace," Peter Done, managing director of Peninsula, told Sky News.

"Although employers who are enforcing the ban are skeptical and dismayed by this trend, they feel they have little choice in the matter due to the threat of litigation, as they have to protect themselves, their reputation and their livelihood."

Copyright 2006 by United Press International

Have you ever seen such a pile of crap in all your life. Seems like these guys just don't want to put up Christmas decorations. How far does anyone think this would go in court. Maybe it's time the government or the courts made it law that it is impossible to sue other because of religious decorations. Does this mean I can sue Muslims for wearing their head scarves at work during Ramadan and can I sue a Jewish person for having a Menorah at work during Hanukka and what about a Christian who is seen wearing a cross at work. These could all be construed as religious decorations in the workplace.

Besides all this, what is the difference between a workplace and a public place where Christmas decorations go up. Does that mean religious groups should be allowed to sue cities over decorations? Seems to me we've all become a bunch of  cowards and chickenshits.

Are We Paranoid or Is This Neseccary To Say

'MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL'

Twas the month before Christmas
When all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying
Nor taking a stand.
See the  RCMP had taken away,
The reason for Christmas - no one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing,
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.
It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just a " Holiday ".
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get  at  it!
CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod
Something was changing, something quite odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.
As Targets were hanging their trees upside down
At Chapter's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Wal-Mart's and Sears
You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears. Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-is-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.
Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !
At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.
And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
So as you celebrate "Winter Break" under your "Dream Tree"
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
Choose your words carefully, choose what you say
Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS, not Happy Holiday !

Keep CHRIST in Christmas

At this time of year this Catholic boy would like to remind you to stop trying to be politically correct about Christmas.

It is Merry Christmas and not Happy Holidays. Say Merry Christmas to everyone. Put up a Christmas tree not a Hanukkah bush, an Allah plant, or a holiday hedge.

Say it... CHRISTmas... it is the time of year we Christians celebrate the bith of Christ...remember him?

I resent people telling me that we should be thoughtful of other religions and not try to cram it down their throats. NO ONE is cramming it down their throats. I have found every Muslim I know, every Jewish person I know, says Merry Christmas to me and they do not say Happy Holidays. We Christians say it, not them, because at this time of year they have more respect for our religion than we have.

I say Happy Hanukkah and Happy Ramadan and I say MERRY CHRISTMAS. Try it...it rolls off the tongue real easy and you may discover that you are not offending anyone. You just think you are because you hear on the news...after all it makes good copy.

New Line Cinema is sponsoring a Christmas Festival in a city in the USA with their film THE NATIVITY STORY. Around the stalls and booths various monitors will show scenes and trailers from the upcoming movie. Now, it seems that some idiotic political correct asswipes (sorry this is the least offence term I could think of) think that this can not go on at a Christmas festival because it can offend those who are not Christians. DUH!!!!

Let's see the festival is about the celebration of Christmas. If you are not celebrating Christmas then the chances are you will not be going there to celebrate. If you do go there just for the fun of it then you know what you are going to, so the chances you will be offended should be nil.

Stop trying to protect others, they can do it themselves.  Needless to say the festival is continuing as planned.

It is time to take a stand against these nuts who advocate this pc crap. Take a stand and say it to everyone...MERRY CHRISTMAS. Now pass this on and have your friends come here and read this.

I love this time of year and I especially love going to Christmas mass. If I offended anyone...tough doodles (I really wanted to say a stronger word starting with 's').

Abuse of Women

The Dutch are saying it as it should be said. In trying to pass laws that will force Muslims to conform to their country norms, they are doing the proper thing. They said that they fought hard to have their countries standards to where they are today. They want the women that live in their country to have the same rights as men; they want to make sure they are not being abused because of religious ideas from their immigrants.

When people go to live in another country it is usually based on the idea that they will go to a better life. They want to get away from the prejudices and restrictive attitudes from whence they came. The Dutch are hopefully going to pass this law and hopefully other countries will follow their lead.

The necessity of these types of laws in our country was brought home to me while reading an article in the newspaper. It was story about a something that happened in Saudi Arabia in a small town called Qatif. As the article stated, the crime was unspeakable and the punishment was deplorable. A teenage girl was gang raped by seven men. When she went to the courts to seek some justice she discovered that it was a big mistake. The judge ordered that she be given 90 lashes, more lashes then was given to the rapists. Her body was to be punished a second time. Why? It seems that she was being punished because she had been in a car with a man with whom she was not married.

In a country where gender segregation is practiced, rape quite often goes unpunished. Furthermore, those that dispense justice often use their personal bias and beliefs in handing down sentences.

Many Muslim men and clerics want to bring this type of law to other countries where Muslims are quickly heading to more than minority status. We have to guard against this with every fibre of our being and with our votes when it comes to choosing our government representatives.

Now, at least this case galvanized critics of the judiciary in Saudi Arabia as well as human rights advocates around the world. This case has yet shown the atrocities that are perpetrated against women everyday around the world. Women suffer because of male patriarchal structures, religious fundamentalism and down right plain misogyny. As for my self I like to know that my wife and my daughters can walk next to me and not behind me. I cherish the idea they have the same rights as any male. They can be and act and dress the way they wish. It's a shame that multitudes of women around the world can not. It is time for them to rise up and do something about it. They have more clout then they think but only when they stick together and stand up for rights to be what they want to be. Otherwise this will continue....

  • in the first 4 months of 2006 nearly 200 hundred women were murdered in Guatemala

  • since 2001, there are reports of 1,800 women killed in that country.

  • rape and mutilation of women in has become a cancer in the Congo where 4 million people have been killed since 1994.

  • in India, widow abuse is still common. Although the practice of suttee or widow burning has been outlawed, it still continues. This practice was the placing of the live widow next to the body of the dead husband on the funeral pyre. The rest of the widows, still to this day, are reduced to begging for alms to survive.

  • trafficking of women still continues worldwide, even here in Canada.

  • women worldwide are still forced into forced marriages, forced prostitution, domestic servitude and sexual slavery.

  • closer to home 500 aboriginal women have gone missing in the last 20 years and according to government stats aboriginal women are 5 times more likely to die as a result of violence.

  • sexual mutilation of female sexual organs still continues in many countries.

The thing about all this is to ask ourselves if we want this type of attitude and goings on here in Canada. Do you want even the chance of it going on, not only to Muslims but the possibility of it happening to you? Think about this and stop trying to be so politically correct, that you ignore these dangers to our society as it is, good or bad. The Dutch are trying and the rest of us should as well. The attitude should be that if you come to our country, then be part of our country and not try to be a small county within it, with your own laws and standards. When Muslims or others come here they should be allowed to be and dress like the rest of us citizens. If they really want to dress the way they do back home then fine but they should also be allowed by law to dress and act the way the rest of the citizens of their new country act. They should be protected by our nation’s laws when they want to do this and not worry about suffering punishment at the hands of their husbands and clerics. If you want to maintain the status quo from back home then go there and maintain the style and laws you want to preserve. Just do not do it here.

O.J and FOX

Good grief does O.J. SIMPSON lack a brain or did it die with his wife.

The man is nuts, and if any of you watch the Fox Show that outlines how he would have killed his wife if he actually had done it, then you're nuts as well.

It's Christmas season soon so instead of watching that idiot program, go buy me a Christmas present instead.

How I bought a Christmas present if I had actually bought a Christmas present for my wife.

Some people are just nuts. Some networks are just nuts and greedy.

Learn from history...

The article below hits things square on the head. We as a people really have a hard time learning from history, don't we? In this era we can thank politically correct people for this lack of intelligence and a weakness to stand up for ourselves and grow a pair. Someday our children and grand children will pay for our lack of  decisive action in what is happening int he world today. Anyway read the article and make up your own mind.

Loving thine enemy
The more the Islamists step on our toes, the more we waltz them gaily around the room

Mark Steyn
National Post

Thursday, November 16, 2006

After September 11, the first reaction of just about every prominent Western leader was to visit a mosque:
President Bush did, so did the Prince of Wales, the prime minister of the United Kingdom, the prime minister of Canada and many more. And, when the get-me-to-the-mosque-on-time fever died away, you couldn't help feeling that this would strike almost any previous society as, well, bizarre. Pearl
Harbor's been attacked? Quick, order some sushi and get me into a matinee of Madam Butterfly!

Seeking to reassure the co-religionists of those who attack you that you do not regard them all as the enemy is a worthy aim but a curious first priority. And, given that more than a few of the imams in those mosque photo-ops turned out to be at best equivocal on the matter of Islamic terrorism
and at worst somewhat enthusiastic supporters of it, it involved way too much self-deception on our part. But it set the tone for all that followed, to the point where with each bomb or plot -- from September 11 to London to Toronto -- the protestations of Islam's good faith grew ever more fulsome.

Consider the name given to the current conflict: "war on terror." Wait a minute. Aren't wars usually waged against named enemies? Yes, but, to the progressive mind, the very concept of "the enemy" is obsolescent: There are no enemies, just friends whose grievances we haven't yet accommodated. In part, it's societal forgetfulness. In an electronic age, a present-tense culture,
we assume that social progress is like technological progress: It can't be reversed. Just as you can't disinvent the internal combustion engine, so you can't disinvent women's rights. Just as the horse and buggy yielded to the steam train and the Ford Model T and the passenger jet, so the advanced social-democratic society will march onward to state day care and 30-hour work weeks and gay marriage and ever greater ethnic diversity -- and nothing can turn it back, certainly not a lot of seventh-century weirdbeards.

Many of us figure the Islamist plan to re-establish the caliphate is the equivalent of that moment in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie when plankton roars, "I'm going to rule the world!" Towering over him, SpongeBob says, "Good luck with that." But you never know: It might be that we're the plankton. "Our enemies are small worms," Adolf  Hitler told his generals in August 1939. "I saw them at Munich." In Europe today, as in the
thirties, the political class prostrates itself before an insatiable force that barely acknowledges the latest surrender before moving on to the next invented grievance. Indeed, a formal enemy is all but superfluous to requirements. Bomb us, and we agonize over the "root causes."
Decapitate us, and our politicians rush to the nearest mosque to declare that "Islam is a religion of peace." Issue bloodcurdling calls at Friday prayers to kill all the Jews and infidels, and we fret that it may cause a backlash against Muslims. Behead sodomites and mutilate female genitalia, and gay groups and feminist groups can't wait to march alongside you denouncing Bush and Blair. Murder a schoolful of children, and our scholars explain that to
the "vast majority" of Muslims "jihad" is a harmless concept meaning "healthy-lifestyle low-fat granola bar." Thus the lopsided valse macabre of our times: the more the Islamists step on our toes, the more we waltz them gaily round the room.

As French philosopher Jean-Francois Revel wrote, "Clearly, a civilization that feels guilty for everything it is and does will lack the energy and conviction to defend itself." During the Danish cartoon jihad, The New York Times gave a routinely pompous explanation of why it would not be showing us the representations of the Prophet: Sensitive news organizations, the editors explained, had the duty to "refrain from gratuitous assaults on religious symbols." The very next day, the Times illustrated a story on the Danish controversy with a piece of New York "art" from a couple of seasons earlier showing the Virgin Mary covered in elephant dung.

Multiculturalism seems to operate on the same even-handedness as the old Cold War joke in which the American tells the Soviet guy that "in my country everyone is free to criticize the president," and the Soviet guy replies, "Same here. In my country everyone is free to criticize your president." Under the rules as understood by The New York Times, the West is free to mock and belittle its Judeo-Christian inheritance, and, likewise, the Muslim world is free to mock and belittle the West's Judeo-Christian inheritance. If one has to choose, on balance Islam's loathing of other cultures seems psychologically less damaging than the Western elites' loathing of their own.

Insurgencies, whether explicitly terrorist or more subtle, persist because of a lack of confidence on the part of their targets. The IRA, for example, calculated correctly that the British had the capability to smash them totally but not the will. So they knew that while they could never win militarily, they also could never be defeated. The Islamists have figured similarly. The only
difference is that most terrorist wars are highly localized. We now have the first truly global terrorist insurgency because the Islamists view the whole world the way the IRA view the bogs of Fermanagh: They want it, and they've calculated that our entire civilization lacks the will to see them off.

Who is that masked man??

Whoops we should say, "Who is that masked woman?", well at least we think it is a woman.

In our society today if someone walked into a bank with their face covered, a clerk would hit the alarm button to summon the law. Wait a minute if that person has their face covered and is wearing a long full body covering atttire  called a burka it does not cause anyone any panic.

I am surprised that some enterprising bank robbers haven't used this ploy to rob a bank. Not to worry, though, sooner or later someone will catch on and use this gimmick to do do just that. I am surprised that a terrorist hasn't walked into a North American bank dressed in a burka with dynamite underneath it and blown the bank and it's clientelle to smithereens. When this finally happens, maybe then our Canadian government will do something about it.

Fortunately there are other countries who have half a brain in their head and are trying to do something about this situtation before it comes down to the my suggestions above.  Below you will find a newspaper article that shows what is happening around the world when it comes to these masked people. North American culture has always seen people who cover their faces as the villains, the bad guys, the highwaymen, the bank robbers, heck even when we have masked good guys the law treats them as possible bad guys. So why is it that we allow this face covering to go on in our society today just because Muslims feel that their women are so much better than ours that they have to hide their faces or we will be enticed into immoral acts of wanton sexual abandon. Give me a frackin' break.

Look when we go to their countries our women have to obey their laws and cover up. So why is that when these people come to our country they do not abide by our customs? It's their religion, they say and they want us to respect this, so why do they disrespect us when we go to their countires and force us to comply with their religious dogma when it isn't our religion? Okay you politically correct activists, explain that one to us.

Read this newspaper article... BURKAS UNVEILED AS AN ELECTION ISSUE. It is time that North America stepped into line with these other countries and did something about this veiled problem before we are forced to do it when the loss of life is the aftermath.

Learn from history.

Hot for martyrdom

This is a guest comment from Thom Gillian. Thanks for sending in the article.

I don't understand why this is news.

Long before this was published, the application of logic to the known facts lead to the inescapable conclusion that virtually all Muslims want to see their religion as the only religion.  Some believe that beating the rest of the world into submission will achieve that end.  For others, they believe non-believers can be cajoled into accepting the one true faith by the exemplary lives led by followers of the prophet.

Click here to read this really interesting article. I must say it opened my eyes a bit and this is new to me as well but it is rather scary.

Muslim Cleric Compare Women to Uncovered Meat

Well at least one Muslim cleric had  the cajones to say what is really on the thoughts of many hardcore Muslims. Cleric Sheik Taj Aldin al Hilali spoke like a lot  of Christian fundementalists, sort of, but he took it  a bit too far.

This article I read comes from Sydney, Australia. One of that countries most senior Islamic clerics, who has advised the government on Islamic matters, has triggered outrage after his rather nasty remarks. In a sermon in September he made some comments that do not sit well with most people. This religious figure compared women who do not wear a headscarf to "uncovered meat" who invite rape.

This is the quote: "If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside....without cover, and the cats come to eat it....whose fault is it, the cats' or the uncovered meat's? The uncovered meat is the problem. If she was in her room, in her home, in her hijab, no problem would have occurred."

You know, if any westerner were to make these comments we would be branded misogynist deviants who see women as sex objects. We would have our name plastered all over the place as crass, ignorant bastards who should be castrated. Yet these religious zealots  can come into our society, where we are told that the way women dress or act does not give us the right to treat women as sex objects to be raped or abused, and they can say this crap and no one really censures them. I can see why Muslim men like this arrangements. They can hide their women and treat them as possesions who have to do whatever  they are told or tehy might get raped.

Don't get me wrong here, I personally know quite a few Muslims who treat their wives with respect and not as second class citizens. Still, isn't it time where the different governments stepped in and forced these Islamic zealots to realize that just because they can't control their biological urges around women, that they do not have the right to treat women like meat that are only there to tempt men into rape.

Years ago when I was 20 I remember standing outside a donut shop with the owner. As we talked a young girl with a short mini dress walked by. As he looked at her, he said that if she went around dressed like that she shouldn't complain if  she got raped. You know I was disgusted by that comment back then and I'm even more disgusted today, by these idiot comments, by clerics who have no respect for themselves or their own people by thinking that their male congregation is not capable of controlling themselves around half naked women.

Oh wait, I don't see any articles about Muslim men going around raping western women because they dress the way they do. Do you think that it's because they know the difference between right and wrong. Heaven forbid if they could only tell right from wrong based on a piece of stupid cloth wrapped around a woman's face. Then again maybe western women are such dogs that even uncovered they are like rancid meat and even rapists wouldn't want to go near them. Do you think that is why they don't rape the uncovered meat of western women? Maybe, just maybe most Islamic men do know the difference between right and wrong and they are not such evil family men that would rape women because they can see their hair or face.

Like I said before, maybe we should ban religion worldwide and then we may live a more  peaceful life by just holding God in our hearts and not adultrate his good name.

'HEROES' The Best New Show On Television

Even though the one show I never miss is BOSTON LEGAL, this year the new show HEROES has now taken over as my favourite television show. If you have never seen it then shame on you. Satart watching it now before it gets in too deep. Catch all the reruns you can.

Head over to the NBC HEROES site to catch up on some of the shows. They have even put up some online comics to fill in some of the blanks from the show. Nicely drawn and very informative. Online are some short graphic novels to read.

You can even read viewers comments and discussions on the show and see show videos on the making of the show as well.

You can go to TV.com to read up on each episode so far as well. But keep an eye out for reruns like they did on Sunday when they screened three episodes on NBC. I hope they do mor eof this to give people a chance to catch up on the episodes they missed.

NBC has ordered the full seasons 22 episodes and it is a certainity to continue next year. Well worth watching.

religious wars and ethnic violence---guest editorial

BOB DIXON writes:

It seems to me that the religious wars and ethnic violence are
continuously manufactured by the large financial and social elite's, and always have been. This all about enslavement of men and populations. The sooner they can get you hooked on the material and wealth, those nice houses, the car(s) and the many toys you are subliminally told you must have, or you are a utter failure. Once bound by debt, they have us! Now you can be taught to hate, to obey, to submit to the rule of fear.

First all should understand and be reminded that news is made by ALL governments for us, to control and remove your own independent opinions. If you would first remove all financial debt, holding only assets no matter how modest, living within your debt free means, you will find a freedom to think for yourself again.

If you are not bound, why would you care at all about the middle east? Do your young school kids give a damn? No. Why should they, it is not natural. Do they naturally worry about god or goddess?  No. Do they have a built in violent nature to the point they will strike beat, hurt, injure and kill another child? Positively YES! That is true innate human nature displayed unabashed .

Our problems are largely overpopulation related. The number one sin of  man according to the ancient gods was overpopulation. We once again are to repeat the thinning of mankind perhaps near extinction as in our past history.

Can we not admit we are in fact demon seed, and we can't live with ourselves in peace. Just too many gods on the planet. We in fact are the causal of the ruination of this planet and our future.

I was right.

It seems that I was right about audiences not wanting to invest time in television prime time serials. Some like 'SMITH', 'SIX DEGREES' and 'KIDNAPPED' have already been cancelled. I am sure more will go down that road.

I have to give credit to NBC for at least letting 'KIDNAPPED' finish it's story line in a shortened 13 episodes, of course cramming it into a Saturday night schedule means even fewer people will see it.

'HEROES' is the best serial this year and I am sure it will survive as it's ratings are good. It is great and if it gets pulled at the end of the season, I may have to give up on serials all together in the future. If you haven't seen it you are missing a great series. Watch it.

Iman is trying to rewrite history

I was reading the letters to the editor today and saw a letter from Joseph Gamero that responded to all the crap that was going on about the Pope supposedly criticizing Islam. Joseph rightfully pointed out how the Pope had no reason to apologize unless Muslims are trying to rewrite history. I've never heard of Christians trying to rewrite history about the Crusades when Christians fought Muslims. It seems that now Muslim teachers are trying to rewrite their own history so as to not having to acknowledge all the countries they invaded in the past to convert people to Islam by the sword.

Anyway Joseph's letter outlines the history so check it out by clicking here...Article.

SHOT TO HEAD...OK! SMOKING CIGAR...NOT OKAY!

Here's a good one for you all to ponder. It seems that the new James Bond actor Daniel Craig is upset, with good reason. He is furious that in the new Bond thriller, Casino Royale, coming this November he is not allowed to smoke.

Craig told Parade Magazine: "I can blow off someone's head at close range and splatter blood, but I can't light a good Cuban cigar."

Well that about sums up our new culture in North America and the rest of the world. Smoking bad...nudity and sex....bad.....killing and blowing people up...good. The US government bitches about Janet Jackson's nipple on television. Britain wants smoking cut out of Tom & Jerry cartoons and out of James Bond movies but it's okay for both of them to show lots of violence. Mother's ask theatre managers if there is sex in a movie but are okay with violence. What is this world coming to?

Television is filled with violence, more grisly corpses and graphic scenes of peoples innards but heaven forbid if television is allowed to show a little round section of a female body ( Which all females seem to possess). What has happened to society that has caused it to be so askew?

Well at least, we who live in Canada get to see nudity on regular television when it is appropriate and we even get to hear swear words on regualr television. Most Canadian shows do tend to cut down on grusesome violence of course. That is changing slowly as well.

To you people out there in USland especially....get a grip. Then again as the religious factions in USland grow and get more control, you can expect it to get worse. As you know virtually all religions cause and accept violence but sex is a taboo. This is one thing that Christians and Muslims have in common. Of course they had two men who preached against violence which both religions follow...so how did we turn everything around.

We humans do not deserve to have had these two great men in our midst. We despoiled everything they stood for. We should be ashamed of our selves. Really, making a big deal out of a cigar, a nipple and social cartoon satire...we should be ashamed of ourselves. Time for the the most perfect creature on earth to take over ....lets hear it for the cockroach.
